Can we reclaim the vat as we go along, as in, during the course of the build ?

Sorry to inform you, the answer is no. You can only make one reclaim. This reclaim must be within 3 months of the date of the document that is used as completion evidence, most commonly - either a building control completion certificate or a document known as 'Making A New Entry in The Valuation List' from an organisation called The Valuation Office Agency ( VOA) (This applies to England & Wales, in Scotland the acceptable documentation is different, I blogged about this previously, if you require the full details).
