I quite often get asked about swimming pools. If the swimming pool is in a room within the house, the swimming pool and that room qualify for VAT reclaim and subsequently zero rating in a new house or the reduced rate of VAT of 5% in a conversion otherwise a swimming pool does not qualify for zero rating or a VAT reclaim.
